Gold plating is a surface. Treat it well and it lasts for years; attack it with chemicals and it will not.
Keep away from
- Perfume, hairspray and lotion — spray first, put jewelry on after
- Chlorine and salt water
- Household cleaners and bleach
- Ultrasonic cleaners
Every day
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Take pieces off before showering, swimming, sleeping and the gym.
Storage
Store in the pouch provided, away from other jewelry. Metal rubbing against metal is the fastest way to wear plating thin.
Sterling silver
Our 925 silver is rhodium-finished and resists tarnish, but if it dulls, a silver polishing cloth restores it. Do not use polishing cloths on gold-plated pieces — they remove plating.
Stainless steel
Effectively maintenance-free. Soap, water and a soft cloth are enough.
